DIN is the abbreviation for German Institute for Standardization which was established 1917 in Berlin.

Currently more than 30,000 standards have been established and the number is growing by 2,000 additional standards each year.

DIN 4112 is the standard that governs the architectural and safety aspects of temporary buildings i.e. as found on all German fairgrounds.

Although one rule is applied to those constructions, a broad diversity in appearance has evolved.
